New York City based Artistic Director/Choreographer/Performer Tiffany Mills creates work grounded in partnering and improvisation. Her exploration is fueled by collaboration across mediums and she has most recently worked with filmmaker Ela Troyano, composers John Zorn and Ikue Mori, and experimental theater director Peter Petralia. The Company’s collaborative work has been presented at: Portland Institute for Contemporary Art’s Time Based Art Festival, Wexner Center for the Arts, Contemporary Dance Theater/National Performance Network, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival Residency Program, Guggenheim Museum Works & Process Series, Duke on 42 Street, Symphony Space Dance Sampler, Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors, Dancing in the Streets, Joyce SoHo, Danspace Project’s City/Dans Series, Dance Theater Workshop Fresh Tracks, PS 122 Avant Garde Arama, Movement Research, Tribeca Performing Arts Center, HERE, Dance Place, and internationally in Mexico and Canada. She has received multiple grants from national and international funding agencies.
During her residency at AU, she created an original dance work It Only Happens Once…Yesterday and Tomorrow with fifteen Alfred University students, and she taught six classes to approximately one hundred and forty students. AU students then traveled to New York City to view the premiere of Tiffany Mill’s latest work Bulls and Berries, performed at the Baryshnikov Center for the Performing Arts by her company.
