Marcela Giesche

Oak Sacre

Marcela Giesche taught highly physical dance classes during a two-day residency at Alfred University. She currently resides in Amsterdam, where she dances professionally and develops her own research in movement improvisation and choreography. She received her BFA in dance from The Ohio State University in June 2006. During a year abroad, she studied at the Rotterdamse Dansacademie where she was asked to dance in Bianca Van Dillen and Beppie Blankert’s The Rite of Spring, touring the Netherlands and the United States. In 2005, she toured with Neuer Tanz, a dance theater company in Düsseldorf, Germany. Growing up in Alfred, Marcela took dance classes at Alfred University, and is the daughter of Dr. Herbert Giesche, Professor of Ceramic Engineering at AU.
