Jennifer Salk

Gina Gambill Residency

Jennifer Salk is a Dance Professor at the University of Washington in Seattle, setting her choreography on university dance companies nationwide, as well as teaching at the illustrious American Dance Festival in North Carolina. Jennifer Salk came to Alfred from Seattle for one week to teach classes and set a dance work on Alfred University dance students. Jennifer’s expertise as a teacher and artist came through in her inspired modern dance, improvisation and composition classes. Her extremely physical and highly musical choreography was rehearsed each night by eleven dancers who performed her work Kottkeesque – a high energy romp to the music of master 12 string guitarist Leo Kottke – at the AU Dance Theater concert in February.
