Jane Comfort–choreographer, director and writer who has pioneered the possibilities of multidisciplinary dance since the 70’s–taught acting, dance, improvisation and composition classes over the course of one week. During her time at AU, she created an original work titled Home Suite, performed by a theater and dance student/faculty cast in the AU Dance Theater Concert.

Known for humorous, issue-oriented works integrating text and movement, she was Associate Director/Choreographer of Stephen Sondheim and Lames Lapine’s Broadway musical Passion, which won four Tony Awards. Comfort was also recently honored with a Bessie Award for choreography. She has received thirteen choreography fellowships and company grants from the National Endowment for the Arts as well as support from other notable foundations.
