Jordan Fuchs, of The Jordan Fuchs Dance Company in New York City, taught contact improvisation, composition and several modern dance classes at AU. On Monday, November 11, The Jordan Fuchs Dance Company conducted a lecture demonstration at titled Form and Freedom: Improvisation and the Creative Process for the Freshman Foundation Art Classes, and later performed their work Rest Stop Rendezvous, entwining six strangers in a desolate and deserted landscape–defined by the slide projections of Katie Glicksberg and the soundscapes of Andy Russ–within a dance of intersecting intimacies.
“Fierce dancers in killer dances? I loved seeing a dance in this go-go-go, time-is-money town, which was not rushed. Every move and gesture was extended, stretched out, elongated, with losing definition.”
-Paul Ben-Itzak, The Dance Insider, on Rest Stop Rendezvous
